Registrations open 09 August 2026. Free to enter, open internationally, and judged on what happens in the classroom rather than what appears on a letterhead.
There is no registration fee. There never has been.
No entry charge, no processing fee, no payment at shortlisting, and no cost to attend the ceremony as a nominee. If anyone asks you for a fee in connection with this award, it did not come from us.

- Practising school, college and university teachers
- Principals and academic coordinators
- Special educators and learning-support specialists
- Trainers, lecturers and professors
- Minimum three years' teaching experience
- Under sixty years of age in the nomination year

Complete the application
Personal details, contact information, academic qualification and professional profile.

Upload your documents
Qualification certificate, résumé, identity proof and a photograph, submitted securely.

Complete the self-assessment
Five short written responses on your teaching practice, innovation and impact.

Declaration and review
Confirm your submission. You will receive acknowledgement once it is received.

Verification and shortlisting
The evaluation committee reviews credentials and draws a shortlist per category.

Final evaluation
Shortlisted educators are assessed in depth, including leadership and community involvement.

Ceremony
Winners are honoured at the award ceremony alongside the international conference.
We do not ask what school you teach at. We ask what changed for the students who sat in front of you.
International Education Conference, Malaysia
The 2026 award will be held alongside an international education conference bringing together educators, researchers, school leaders and policy voices from across the Academy’s network — with an open call for papers.

Best Teacher Award recipients receive complimentary registration for the Diploma in Teachers Counselling.
